Documentary

Documentaries have the power to move, inform, and inspire. With a background in narrative filmmaking, we bring cinematic quality and emotional depth to real-world stories. Our documentary filmmaking captures real people, real experiences, and real emotions in a way that feels both intimate and cinematic. From long-form features to branded mini-docs, we tell stories that inspire trust, spark conversation, and create a lasting legacy for your subject or brand.

A Day At Woodhatch Place - Surrey Careers Hub

Project Brief

Surrey Careers Hub is one of 44 Careers Hubs across England. They work with schools, colleges, employers, training providers, and partners to deliver consistent, high-quality careers programmes. They came to us to create a short docu-reality film about people in careers accessible to those with special educational needs. The film’s objective was to inform and inspire, whilst remaining tonally and technically accessible to this audience.

Deliverables

  • 1x 8min widescreen 2.35:1 ‘A Day At Woodhatch Place’ film reel for live cinema audience & website use.

Production

  1. Pre-production took place throughout December-January 2025. We produced the concept, call sheets, interview questions; plus arranged four interviewees.

  2. Production took place across two days at SCC Woodhatch Place, Surrey. A crew of four was deployed, divided between two cinema cameras and a drone unit. With the first day spent interviewing, the second saw the team follow each subject as they undertook their everyday activities.

  3. Post-production saw all deliverables edited in-house and shared with the Surrey Careers Hub executive team for revisions, then the Surrey County Council marketing team for distribution.

Our Client Said…

“Partnering with Tim and Callum at Lamplight is always a pleasure!  Their commitment to understanding and researching the intent of the brief is always excellent. Communication throughout the projects is comprehensive and timely (and jargon-free!), resulting in clarity of everyone’s roles to deliver to the deadline. Their professional engagement with us as partners and our project stakeholders whilst on shoot is great and ensures everyone involved has an enjoyable and relaxed experience of being filmed, which is not everyone’s cup of tea, admittedly! They consistently deliver to the Careers Hub project briefs, and we are super happy with the quality of the outcomes. I would highly recommend working with Lamplight on your film, creative media, and photography projects!”
