Of The Oak Mid-Run Promo - Kew Gardens & Marshmallow Laser Feast
Project Brief
Royal Botanical Gardens Kew (RBG Kew) is the most famous botanical garden in the world, situated in south-west London. Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF) is an experiential artist collective based in London, who specialise in immersive exhibits that connect audiences with the natural world around them. RGB Kew commissioned MLF to create an immersive & interactive experience celebrating the famous Lucombe Oak tree opposite their Palm House conservatory. MLF came to us to create a multi-length & aspect ratio cinematic advert of the exhibit, for use on RBG Kew’s organic & paid social channels. The goal was to capture the sense of serenity, reflection, and curiosity a family will experience whilst visiting the exhibit. Naturally, RBG Kew expected the very best, and we delivered just that.
Deliverables
1x 60sec landscape 16:9 advert for website use.
3x 6sec multi-aspect ratio (1:1, 9:16, 16:9) advert for paid Meta platform feeds.
4x 15sec multi-aspect ratio (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9) advert for paid & organic Meta platform feeds.
1x 10sec vertical 9:16 advert for organic Meta platform feeds.
Additionally we assisted with a ‘making-of’ documentary & 3D-animated advert creation.
Production
Pre-production took place in March-April 2025. We cast actors to play a family of four, produced call sheets, shot lists, drone permits, & storyboard documents.
Production took place inside RBG Kew over one day in April 2025. We scheduled the shoot for the later hours of the day to maximise the sun position and golden hour light. A crew of three operated two cinema camera packages including specialist motorised slider and drone equipment.
Post-production saw all deliverables edited in-house and shared with the MLF project, marketing, & executive teams; and finally the RBG Kew marketing & executive teams, for revisions and distribution.
